Life at Broadlands
The seaside lifestyle you’ve always wished for
Many of our residents have always hoped for a seaside home. Our spacious premises are a few streets away from Minehead’s glorious promenade, with its sandy beach and seafront shelters.
Enjoy an ice cream in the summer sunshine or even enjoy a trip on the West Somerset Steam Railway, with all the sights, sounds and smells of yesteryear.
There’s a wide range of shops, cafes and pubs within a short distance and our team regularly arrange escorted excursions to accessible venues around Exmoor, subject to availability.
Our local winters are mild, so residents regularly take time to enjoy our gardens and patios throughout the year – and even enjoy a cuppa on the patio on a crisp sunny day!
Comfortable accommodation, with all mod-cons
Each suite at Broadlands is fully furnished with many being fully renovated in modern-style fabrics and soft furnishings.
Many residents choose to bring additional furniture, family heirlooms and pictures. Some residents install Sky TV, broadband internet and private telephones, and mobility scooters can be securely stored and charged in a garage adjacent to our main entrance, with gated access for ease (there is a small charge).
Once moved in, everything is taken care of. Your rooms are centrally heated, enjoy plenty of hot water and have sufficient power sockets for your mobile phone, radio, TV, and other essential appliances.
I enjoy the freedom from day to day responsibilities that are unavoidable when one is living in their own home.

Healthy handmade and balanced meals from our on-site chef
There’s nothing we love more than seeing smiles on the faces of our residents – especially at mealtimes!
From breakfast time, at lunch and to our hearty evening meals, all our food is freshly prepared in our five-star hygiene rated, on-site catering kitchens. Our chef aims to source most ingredients from local producers where possible and will cater for many dietary requirements.
During the day, tea and coffee is served by our team of support workers, or residents can choose to enjoy a cuppa in their own rooms – the choice is yours.
Companionship, warmth, and security
With residents of all ages from 65 upwards, you’ll soon meet people with similar interests or experiences and will enjoy having the companionship of like-minded people close at hand.
Many of our residents choose to stay with us following bereavement or a reduction in personal mobility. Despite having rooms on two levels, each floor is served via a passenger lift or stairlift and every suite benefits from level access, accessible ensuite facilities and a call-bell system in case of emergency.
Broadlands welcomes visits from family, friends, and prospective residents during the day. Feel free to call ahead or drop-in, although for security reasons, we may ask for you to remain in reception until you can be escorted by a member of the team (or your own family member) whilst on the premises.
